HAAM Benefit Day, presented by Whole Foods Market, is a uniquely Austin event where businesses donate 5% of the day’s proceeds to HAAM to support musicians’ health.
Austin Fusion Magazine had the honor of being a sponsor for this event, we sent our photographer Phillip Leach around town to document some of the action.
In the past seven years, HAAM has secured over 41,000 healthcare appointments for more than 2,700 member-musicians.
Musicians, most of whom are HAAM members, perform throughout the day at retail stores, outside stages, City Hall and more.
Jax Neighborhood Cafe presented Mike June.
Brad Rice and Corrina Rachel were just some of the amazing musicians playing for the cause.
The event ran from 6am to well past midnight and community members were invited to shop, eat out, listen to great live music and enjoy!
Even the folks at The Summit Westlake got into the action. The Symphony of Soul was featured.. The Summit Westlake is just one of the many establishments in Austin that welcomes aging musicians and/or family members into their retirement community.
