“If they are a ‘taker’ from the very beginning, they are more likely to cheat.” or “If they are still talking to their ex, they are probably still hung up on them.”
The expert on relationship and sex advice, Kim Iversen, pointed out some red flags to look out for when dating. With all the wise advice she has to share, there is no wonder on why she has her own radio show intended to help women in relationships.
With her increasingly popular radio show now syndicated in over 15 cities, Kim Iversen, a radio personality since 2008, has really made a name for herself. She got her start as an intern for a local radio station, eventually getting hired as director of promotions, ultimately making her hit as the ‘weekend radio gal’. Originally set as ‘a magazine on the radio’ concept. , Iversen’s spunky and constructive show invites listeners to phone in with questions about their love lives.
Her sassy and helpful show is set up to give advice to callers about love, relationships, sex, dating, beauty products, fashion and much more.
Working close to Iversen is the show’s producer, Jill Crapanzano. According to Crapanzano, however, they are more akin to an “old married couple” than they are to coworkers. They met two years ago, and have found success around every corner since. Although, as Kim jokes ” I usually have to make sure my producer approves anything before I agree to it, she is usually a lot more high maintenance than me. It should be the other way around.” Crapanzano is no joke, she is one of the driving forces behind the show and much credit of their success goes to her and their team.
The dynamic duo met up with Austin Fusion for an interview, bringing with them mimosas and food for the whole gang. They know how to please a crowd. Conversation came easily as we all enjoyed refreshments and good company.
AFM: Do you have any nicknames?
KIM: Ky Ky -my mom has called me this since I was old enough to make sound. I couldn’t say Kim when she would ask my name, instead I’d make K sounds. The name was born.
Jill: I sometimes respond to Jillybean!
AFM: What are the three ‘must have’ items you can’t leave the house without?
KIM: My rescue Cat Ella (named after Jazz great Ella Fitzgerald), my rescue Mini Labradoodle Lucy (named after another Jazz legend Lucy Ann Polk) and my toothbrush. With the amount of talking I do, I need fresh breath!!
Jill: Three things for me, Some good sunglasses, my cell, and Nars lipstick in Niagara.
AFM: What do you feel sexiest in?
KIM: I feel my sexiest in a pair of jeans, a fitted white tank top, loose wavy hair and my gold winged DKNY eyeglasses.
Jill: I love my black DKNY dress that I’ve had for about 8 years. It’s my absolute favorite and I try to wear it as much as possible.
AFM: What are your guilty pleasure television shows?
KIM: True Blood (lots of nudity, sex and blood)
Jill: The Real Housewives (of practically anywhere), Couple’s Therapy on VH1, and Chelsea Lately.
AFM: Who’s your celebrity man candy?
KIM: Christian Bale
Jill: I have a bunch, but if I have to choose just one, it would be Bruce Willis
AFM: What’s your favorite thing to do on a Saturday night?
KIM: I love going out with friends having a great time and lots of laughs.
Jill: Having a date night with my man, just him and I, doing something silly.
AFM: What’s your biggest pet peeve about guys?
KIM: How gross they can be sometimes. I don’t want to have to elaborate, I’m about to eat…
Jill: I know!! They can be so messy. Yuck!
AFM: What’s your biggest pet peeve about girls?
KIM: How insecure we can get – causes a lot of issues from girl fights, jealousy, bad sexual decision making and violating friendship “code”.
Jill: I hate how competitive we can be with each other.
AFM: With exes, you think it’s best that you…
KIM: Wish them the best and hope they do the same for you. They were someone you gave a piece of your heart to, so it’s best to hope they make you proud to have ever dated them. You don’t want to look back and say, “eww…I dated that guy!?” Instead you want to look back and say, “He was a great guy and a wonderful person. I learned a lot but our journey came to an end”.
Jill: I just pretend they died.(laughs) ……Or just never talk to them again.
Your Time with Kim Iversen airs Sundays through Thursdays from 9pm-11pm on Mix 94.7.
