Hello Austin!!!

We are very excited to  present to you the very first issue of Austin Fusion Magazine!

What the heck is Austin Fusion Magazine? Who is the genius behind it? Where have you been all my life? We bet these are questions running through you head right about now.  Here is our story:

Austin Fusion Magazine came about during a photo shoot collaboration with Fuzebox Photography and www.electricfrenchie.com.  We were sitting at the kitchen table and comparing friends, gossiping and talking about how Austin is crawling with so many talented people.  (Linda) :  For the past year or two it has been a dream of mine to create a place for artists to be recognized. I have noticed how so many of my talented friends and acquaintances who are pretty much unknown, post their stuff on Facebook , I mean really good stuff! There are musicians who are so unbelievably talented that I cannot understand how they are not famous yet. There are many photographers who are incredible at what they do but just not able to make the right connections with people. I always heard the same complaint, ” You have to be published somewhere before you get any kind of real paying gigs”, ” You have to know the right people to get your work recognized.”  Well, as a photographer (Fuzebox Photography)  I can certainly appreciate that.   ( Chonie )  I have encountered the same thing.  Being a buyer and owner of a boutique I noticed that there are so many talented designers and artists in the area, but to gain a fan base or get people excited about an item you have to get out there and be recognized!

Wouldn’t it be great if there was a magazine that would be willing to publish your work ?  We will!!   Now hold on we aren’t gonna publish lil Bobby’s refrigerator art , I mean we got standards.

Here is how it works: If you are an artist from any of these categories, Art, Fashion, Film or Music and if you are in the great city of Austin, submit your work to us through email (hello@austinfusionmag.com) or via Facebook (facebook.com/austinfusion) .  We will take a look at your work and contact you with an option to be a featured artist.

Each issue will have a featured Artist on our Top Page. We will also have a guest writer, so if you are an aspiring writer you are welcome to apply with your ideas.   You can submit a short story, conduct interviews with our artists or write a short article on our back page as long as it pertains to the above categories or Austin in general.  Are you a film maker? We may just feature a short video clip of your movie.  It’s that simple!
